Marshall University’s Organization of African Students is hosting a fashion show Saturday.
The show is free to attend and refreshments will be provided.
“We are hoping we get a lot of people to come out and show support,” said president Isvera Zondo. “I have never done this and don’t know if we will get a lot of people honestly. But, hopefully we get a great turn out.”
The fashion show exists to showcase different African pieces and to bring awareness to the organization.
“I have never coordinated a fashion show before,” Zondo said. “This is my first time and its been a great experience so far. I have gotten a lot of help from some of the members of the organization to make the fashion show a success.”
The “Taste of Africa” fashion show will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Don Morris Room of the Memorial Student Center.
“The pieces that we will be displayed are pieces that were given to us by different designers,” Zondo said. “They are all traditional pieces.”
