Shots not fired during 7-Eleven robbery
The Marshall University Police Department said there were no shots fired during the robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning at the 7-Eleven located on Fifth Avenue.
Many members of the Marshall community were concerned when they didn’t get any sort of alert about the robbery via text message or email, but MUPD said they want to ensure students and staff that they wouldn’t put anyone in immediate danger.
According to MUPD, the geography layout doesn’t allow them to cover a jurisdiction that is not theirs, therefore an alert being sent to MU’s community wasn’t necessary.
MUPD said they want to ensure others that, if shots had fired, an alert would have been sent out.
