Cycling for charity: Gilbert goes along for the ride
Marshall University President Jerome Gilbert will join the College of Health Professions in its sixth annual Lose the Training Wheels Camp Friday, July 22, in an effort to teach participants with disabilities how to ride two-wheel bicycles by themselves.
The camp, offered in partnership with the iCanShine charity, will take place at the Phil Cline Family YMCA.
Volunteers are requested for the 11:40 a.m. to 12:55 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. sessions and are advised to show up 15 minutes prior to the session and wear clothing suitable for walking or running.
Gilbert, an avid cyclist, will join the second of the two sessions.
For more information about the event and volunteer opportunities, contact Liz Casey, Ph.D., program director of the Department of Health Sciences in the College of Health Professions at [email protected].
Your donation will help continue the work of independent student journalism at Marshall University. If you benefit from The Parthenon's free content, please consider making a donation.
