Semoni Weaver

Semoni Weaver, Reporter

Semoni Weaver, originally from Richmond Virginia, is a sophomore multimedia journalism student in the College of Arts and Media with a minor in Spanish. Semoni was the recipient of the 2021 Marshall University Diversity Award and Nate Ruffin Scholarship. She also serves as a Presidential Ambassador under President Brad D. Smith. Semoni is the Diversity and Inclusion Chair for the Delta Zeta sorority, COAM senator in the Student Government Association, social media ambassador for the Office of University Communications, and an active member of Black United Students. She recently acquired a position in Housing and Residence Life as a Residential Advisor and also spends time working in Marshall’s very own thrift store.  Semoni has a special interest in sports, performing arts, community service, and fashion. In her free time, she enjoys baking, journaling, traveling, and singing. Semoni plans to obtain an internship in Washington, DC after graduation and pursue a career as an art director for a major publication.
