Kinsey Signs Contract With Utah Jazz

Former Marshall University Men’s Basketball guard and SBC Player of the Year Taevion Kinsey signed a contract with the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, Aug 30. 

        SBC Player of the Year, All SBC First Team and being a 2023 Lou Henson Award Finalist were just a few of Kinsey’s accomplishments in his final season with The Herd. 

  Kinsey also broke multiple records in that season, becoming the all-time leading scorer in the program with 2,641 points, passing Jon Elmore. Kinsey would also become the all-time leader in made field goals when he passed Skip Henderson’s mark of 1,000.

    Kinsey filled the scorecards and leaderboards in the 2022-2023 season. Kinsey led the Sun Belt in several categories: points per game at 22.1, having 20 games of 20 or more points and 271 made field goals. Kinsey also ranked second in the conference in total assists at 173.

  Kinsey played for the Jazz in the 2023 Salt Lake City Summer League and NBA 2K24 Summer League.
