Campus Carry Signed Into Law Despite Protests from President Smith and President Gee

Following months of protests and pleas from students and administrators alike, Gov. Jim Justice signed Senate Bill 10, which allows people with concealed carry licenses to carry weapons on university campuses. The bill will take effect on July 1, 2024. Since the bill was passed, the university has worked to train and prepare students and faculty for the potential dangers of the bill.
