Barboursville Public Library in Barboursville West Virginia started its annual book sale this past Saturday.
The sale began the same day as the Barboursville Fall Fest weekend, which according to branch manager Linda Larue said it helped provide a steady flow of patrons throughout the day.
“We had probably, I would say 50 people or more waiting to get in the door at 9,” said Larue.
The library takes books from donations and through weeding out their own selection for the book sale. They have everything from children’s books to cookbooks and a variety of DVDs as well. Prices range from the following:
Books: $1
Paperbacks: $.50
DVDS: $.50
The money raised from the book sale goes to help the library with extra expenses throughout the year.
“It (the money) helps us to purchase things that we wouldn’t normally have. Like things for story hours, after school programing, the decorations for the library. Just things that aren’t allotted in the normal funding,” said Larue.
The library is open from nine to three and the sale can be found in the back conference room till Thursday.
