Marshall Football lost 24-19 against the Georgia Southern University Eagles on senior day in Huntington Nov. 29.
Georgia Southern outpaced Marshall’s offensive game with 528 yards of total offense compared to 372 yards by the Herd.
The loss takes the Herd out of bowl eligibility for the first time since the 2016 season and closes off its season at 5-7.
During the season, Herd quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson set the all time record for rushing yards by a Marshall quarterback in a season with 660 yards, with the previous record being set in the 1980s.
The Herd next takes the field in the spring game for an interteam scrimmage.
