Marshall University’s Lambda Society met Monday for their first time this semester.

The Marshall University Lambda Society had their first meeting of the semester Monday to gain general interest and to give all the new and interested members a chance to meet each other.

Lambda is committed to providing support to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Marshall community and for the greater Huntington area.

President Breonna Patterson said Lambda is open to everyone no matter what sexual orientation they are.

“We are open to people who are questioning, confused, or just trying to figure themselves out,” Patterson said.

Lambda and LGBT office is located in the basement of the Memorial Student Center.

Freshman member Ethan Koont said it is important for people to have support from those who understand them.

“It’s a really important organization for those who are struggling with their identities and just need to be around people who understand and support them,” Koont said.

The Lambda Society is on social media for students to learn more about them.
