The Marshall Artist Series has announced “Pippin,” “Rent,” “42nd Street” and more in its 2016-2017 lineup.

Angela Jones, director of Marketing and External Affairs, said this season will offer performances across varriuos genres.

“It’s definitely a great line up for shows and it’s very diverse,” Jones said. “There’s something for everyone and I think every single show has an appeal to students. Most of them have some sort of educational component as well.”

Jones said the public has already shown excitement for the lineup, especially for Tony Bennett’s September 29 performance.

“The majority of the phone calls we get are people asking about him because he’s a living legend and he’s never played in this area,” Jones said. “People are excited about that, for sure.”

Jones said she welcomes students to suggest artists for future lineups.

“Students can certainly provide input on any shows they would like to see,” Jones said. “They can go to our Facebook page or drop by our office if they have any input. We are always accepting that.”

Individual tickets will be available August 22 and student tickets will be released on a show by show basis, generally three weeks in advance.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Marshall Artist Series at (304)-696-3326.
